Titanium Pipe/Tube
The titanium tube is light in weight, high in strength and superior in mechanical properties. It is widely used in heat exchange equipment, such as shell and tube heat exchangers, coil heat exchangers, serpentine heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators and conveying pipes, etc. Many nuclear power industries use titanium tubes as standard tubes for their units.
Titanium pipes implement two national standards according to different requirements and performances: GB/T3624-2010 GB/T3625-2007 ASTM B337 338
Supply grades: TA0, TA1, TA2, TA9, TA10, BT1-00, BT1-0, Gr1, Gr2
Product Features
① High specific strength (tensile strength/density) (see picture), the tensile strength can reach 100-140kgf/mm2, and the density is only 60% of that of steel.
② Good strength at medium temperature, the operating temperature is several hundred degrees higher than that of aluminum alloy, the required strength can still be maintained at medium temperature, and it can work for a long time at a temperature of 450-500 °C.
③ Good corrosion resistance, a uniform and dense oxide film is immediately formed on the surface of titanium in the atmosphere, and it has the ability to resist the erosion of various media. Generally, titanium has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing and neutral media, and has better corrosion resistance in seawater, wet chlorine gas and chloride solution. However, in reducing media, such as hydrochloric acid and other solutions, the corrosion resistance of titanium is poor.
④ Titanium alloys with good low temperature performance and extremely low interstitial elements, such as TA7, can maintain a certain plasticity at -253 °C.
⑤ Low elastic modulus, low thermal conductivity, no ferromagnetic.
Application
1. Titanium pipes are mainly used to make aircraft engine compressor parts, followed by structural parts of rockets, missiles and high-speed aircraft.
2. In the mid-1960s, titanium and its alloys have been used in general industries for making electrodes in the electrolysis industry, condensers in power stations, heaters in petroleum refining and seawater desalination, and environmental pollution control devices.
3. Titanium and its alloys have become a corrosion-resistant structural material for the production of hydrogen storage materials and shape memory alloys.
